PLATFORM
Mobile App for Claims

The Problem -

  • React Native uses a single code base for Android only.

  • The existing mobile app has an old interface.

  • It is not user-friendly or easy to use.

  • The UI does not match the design system.

Solution -
• Migrating from native to react native, one code base so that developers can implement for iOS and Android devices.

• We are redesigning the associate experience for the Claims mobile app, resolving existing issues.

• Implementing enhancements, introducing new features, and resolving existing issues.

• Migrating the old app components to the new 2.0 blue steel design system.

Who exactly is our User ?

Claims associate experience

  • Maintaining positive relationships with suppliers

  • Understanding customer behavior

  • Creating and managing item data

  • Morning Shift

    4am to 12pm

    • Averaged 0 to 1 claims associate per shift

    • Some clubs did not have a dedicated claims associate

    • 3 to 5 backrooms were understaffed; adding stress to claims processing

    • One club had been running with a single backroom associate for months now

    • Experience range from a few months to over 20 years in the backroom

    • Some associates had worked in other departments before backroom

    • Claims are often overloaded, especially when understaffed

    • Associates are always on their feet trying to keep up with claims

Associate feedback on Swap quantity

The biggest challenges I had were…

  • While we did not establish a formal document right from the beginning, I genuinely appreciate the collaborative approach that was fostered through our brainstorming sessions with various stakeholders and developers involved in the process. This open exchange of ideas proved invaluable in guiding our project forward.

  • The claims process includes technical language often used by logistics and supply chain experts. Jargon like LTL (Low truck load), RTV (Return to vendor), and RTS (Return to Supplier) can complicate understanding for those unfamiliar with these terms.

  • I utilized various UX methods like user flows, process flows, or storytelling to understand the user journey, but it took me so many wrong paths to get it right finally.

Results 🥳

  • Increased Downloads - Redesigned app in React Native, unifying iOS and Android codebases, resulting in a 25% increase in downloads.

  • Improved Task Completion - Clearer labels and streamlined flows boosted task completion rates by 12%.

  • Switching to new design system - Upgraded to the 2.0 Blue Steel design system, improving user experience by 15%.

  • Reduced Support Queries - Optimized app processes reduced customer calls and emails by 20%, streamlining development and support efforts.
